Getting the power back on after a storm

After a record snowfall in Brazos Valley in Texas, many people throughout the region were left without power. While utility companies try to be as prepared for storms as possible, the combination of the amount of snow and the fact that the snow was very wet and heavy led to many power lines being downed and many trees falling, sometimes taking power lines with them.

In the beautiful, snow-filled landscape the morning after the storm, many crews were out fixing equipment and getting the power back on. While the ideal is to never have the power go out, most customers were understanding and appreciative of the hard work the linemen were doing, acknowledging that it “can’t be a fun job” out there in the cold and offering thanks.
