New lineman training facility opens in Missouri Valley

Usually, lineworkers learn to do their job through apprenticeships, classes, and on-the-job training. While that will still be a major part of learning to be a lineworker, the new Missouri Valley Line Constructors Apprenticeship and Training facility will provide a safe, robust, and practical training program for many new lineworkers.

Now fully open, the facility will become a hub for lineworkers from at least six states to undergo training and attain journeyman status. At over fifty thousand square feet, the facility houses utility poles, indoor and outdoor training areas, and various equipment rooms.

With the need for more blue-collar workers throughout the country, this facility is coming at the perfect time and expects to see thousands of trainees each year.
